God damn I'm sick of these politicians... And if you're not, that'll save a lot of reading.
First, I will clarify what I mean when I say republic. I don't want to this to be taken as Republican vs Democrat. I'm neither and I don't care about the parties.
Our country was founded as a republic, not a democracy. The pledge of allegiance is to the republic, not democracy.
A republic is almost exactly the same as a democracy. The difference is where the sovereignty lies. For a democracy its within a group, i.e. a country or state. In a republic its with each and every individual. For example, in a democracy we could vote ourselves into slavery. The 51% could vote to be enslaved while the 49% are s.o.l.
In a republic, that could not happen since we as individuals have rights, sovereignty, and self-accountability. This is where I find myself so frustrated with our government and the politicians that don't really represent us.
Blaming the country's problems on the last administration, and using that excuse to make things worse.
No accountability whatsoever. Obviously your problem was inherited, but if you didn't want the job or think you could fix it, then why did you run for office?
Denying saying they're for single payer or universal health care (which is unconstitutional- i.e. certain inalienable rights), even though there are videos and records of them saying they are not only for it, but are actually trying to get there by using the "public option" as a gateway.
The hypocrisy and balls they have is astounding. The same politicians pissed off at Bush being in bed with "big business", and now its okay? Banks and Auto industries ring a bell, mother fuckers? That is called fascism, a more pure definition can not be found.
Stop apologizing for America. That makes all of us look like little bitches and you like a bush league (no pun intended) coward.
And the media that enables them without question. Bush was not a good president, wouldn't say he's the worst historically speaking, but pretty close. I voted for the other guy, btw, not that we still wouldn't have been up shit-creek...
The media let you know everything that was wrong with him, even if it wasn't. Now I don't understand this "charm" Obama seems to have, but nobody questions him. And if you do, you're a racist, a radical, a militia, a terrorist, a retard, a nut-job... what else have they said...? Believe it or not, not every body drank that kool-aid that must have been handed out. And that's not a racial slur (though I don't give a fuck if it was taken that way), that's a reference to a brain-washed cult.
Action speaks louder than words. Get off the television and do your fucking jobs. Stop making campaign style speeches and get to work. But first, take a look at the constitution. Do you really see anywhere that says you're allowed to take my choice away or redistribute one's hard earned wealth (no matter how small that wealth may be)? How about singling out certain businesses or industries... when we do that to people its called bigotry or racism, isn't it? Tobacco, Alcohol, Firearms, tv & radio (btw, first amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances) all of which have special law enforcement agencies dedicated to governing or controlling (though they call it "regulating"). And soon we will have the government further up our asses with the "CAP and TRADE" or "cap and tax".
Let me explain that one. A certain amount of carbon credits are allotted to energy companies, if they go over they can buy some from one that hasn't gone over or they will have to pay a fine to the government.
Do you think that the energy industry is gonna eat that money? Fuck no, they're gonna pass it down to consumers... which will be good because the economy doesn't suck right now... wait... holy fuck, I forgot it sucks shit right now.
Stop spending our money. A certain logic has failed in the two-party system. With democrats in control, we have those that blindly look at the (D) or (R) and make their judgments and arguments accordingly, and when someone says to stop spending it's taken as anti-democrat or anti-Obama. Then the argument is made that, "oh, but it was okay when bush did it?"... NO! it fucking wasn't. The more that's spent, the more we have to be taxed. That's the simple logic that's over-looked. Do you realize how many taxes we have right now? I don't, but it's a shit load. Besides income, payroll, food, gas, tobacco, and general sales taxes... there are inheritance taxes, property taxes, gift taxes (that's right, gift taxes), retirement taxes and many more not listed and endless more to come such as a tax on soda, juice and juice drinks.
"But that's not all! If you act now, the government will fuck you directly in the ass for FREE!!! Here's how to order: Just bend over and call your state representative! (sorry no checks or c.o.d's)"
And the one that pisses me off the most is when they mock those that they are supposed to be representing. Here's a classic from Congressman John Conyers: "I love these constituents that say, 'read the bill'. Well, what good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and you don't have two days... and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?"
First off, Class-A douche-bag for even saying that. Second, I point you to the REPUBLIC defense. Either don't vote at all or vote no. If you vote yes on something you haven't read, you could actually be voting us into slavery. Probably not literally, but with all the borrowing from other countries and voting on more spending... yeah, you kinda are. My mother taught me when I was seven years old not to sign anything without reading it first, what's their excuse?
Thirdly, Captain Douche has a point. Make the bills' language easier to understand and stop making sneaky last minute amendments.
Take a pay-cut. You are not better or worth more than the average person, so why is a civil servant making more than 4x(four times) the average income of an American worker? Seriously, over $170,000 a year... no wonder they have so many taxes, they gotta get paid! But you notice they're just under the evil-rich $250,000 bracket. Another great thing about George Washington was he didn't want a salary just day-to-day living expenses paid for.
